Re: Felixstowe
Pretty cheap houses.
Smashing chippy opposite the pier.
Fast trains to Liverpool st.
Plenty of work driving box’s about.
Looks pretty when on the hook ferry.

Nicer than Harwich.

Re: Felixstowe
Ferry to Harwich - inconsistent service
Old Ferry - Nice quiet part, Ferry boat inn, decent fresh fish shop.
Mannings - Shabby but still looking back on former glories.
Landguard Fort - HERITAGE
The Alex - Stylised bistro pub which you will HATE

I had my first ever Lasagne there.

Fact.

Re: Felixstowe
Worked there in the late 80’s for a couple of years, nice place but strange folk.
Been there a few times lately and some of it is in need of a lick of paint and the folk are a little less strange.

Gene Simmons: Rock School based in Lowestoft
[after arriving in Lowestoft] Where the f*** am I? Oh my god, I've landed in Lilliput. Everything's so small

Re: Felixstowe
So was Simmons actually meant to fetch up at Felixstowe?

Re: Felixstowe
It's a lot cleaner than it use to be. Nice chippy at the pier. Amusements on the pier ok. Only half the pier you can walk on the rest is blocked off.

The beach isn't great and don't bother going in the sea unless you want to swim in oil and shit coming from the ships.

If you're going for a walk, walk towards the golf course from the pier rather than the other end.

I thought it was just a container port but when I went there I was suprised that it has quite a nice seaside.

Re: Felixstowe
Walk from the pier north along the coast past the decorative beach huts, the Martello towers and golf course eventually reaching the ferry. Here you can sample the fish and chips the either immediately retrace your steps or take the path along the Deben to Woodbridge.
